27th June - 3rd July 2005

Julia, who I travelled around much of Tassie with, comes to Sydney for a few days before she then flies off back to Vancouver, Canada...

Creeping up on the unsuspecting Julia as she waits for me to collect here at Sydney Airport

So pleased to see me and my camera as usual!!!

And she was so happy to see her old mate Ears Too... oh and a bottle of Beer!

It's Julia's Birthday on the 5th, just after she returns to Canada, so it's present giving time...  In the big fat shape of Wendy the Fat Arsed Wombat!  (Big thanks to ZoŽ, who helped enabled this!)
Wendy joining Julia and Wombat, her new wombat she fell in love with down at the famous St Kilda market, but not to be confused with Wombat, my wombat who I found down in St. Kilda market myself... confused???

A pyramid of Wombats!

Showing off my bruised hip from the encounter with the rock whilst skiing at the weekend...

Getting some shots inside the Woolloomooloo Finger Warf

Flashy place huh

A couple of landmarks...

Trying to get a self portrait before being tickled to death!

More shot of the icons with some big clouds behind..

The bridge from underneath at night...

Let's Go To The
Sydney Opera House!!!
We did the tour... I was hoping to see inside the Opera Hall, but they were having rehearsals, so I missed it again...  But got to see the Concert Hall for the second time...

The lovely roof made out of dull concrete...

Even the Sydney Opera House has a leaking roof!  Can you believe that!!!  Spot the drips...

We were not allowed to take any photos inside the halls at all...  Ha!  Like they're gonna stop me!

What a miserable day in Sydney

Not the prettiest shot of the Bridge I reckon...
On the ferry from Circular Quay to Darling Harbour

Let's Go To The
Sydney Aquarium!

Platymapus!

The sign makes sense I reckon...

Tim-Tam watches the fish and then has a chat to Julia...

The Fish...

In preparation for Crazy Steve's Bingo on Sunday Night, I popped over to the Rhodes Shopping Centre where Laura was driving Tall Steve's Thomas The Tank Engine kids ride (for real!) and collected a couple of white boiler suits from the tool box...  you'll see these in a couple of days...

Julia found and bought me this cute little Penguin Chocolate!!!  Mmmm...

Julia and I headed up into the Blue Mountains, which was supposed to be a day trip, but it was late afternoon when we got there so we decided to stay the night at the lovely No. 14 hostel in Katoomba and see the sights there the next day...

I decided to take her up to our famous sunset cliff-top ledge hidden off the dirt track in the national park... it was not quite as warm as when the Pink House posse was there last!!!

Smile!
It's was bloody freezing and windy...

And the sunset was non-existent...

Back to Echo Point to see the Three Sisters at dusk...

Cool shot of them lit up a bit by their flood lights and really showing the blue haze that gives the mountains their name!!!  (we'll ignore the Eroded plateau bit...)

Some attempted ghost shots...

The next morning we headed down to Wentworth Falls to go for a little hike...  one of my favourite places up in the Blues...

The weather came good as the clouds parted and the sun came out!

Wentworth Falls

Julia very cautiously walk round on the famous ledge on the way down to the bottom of the big falls...

Quite a lot of water coming over the falls today!

No Germans taking a shower in the pool like I saw last time!!!

Snap snap...

Looking out thru the veil of dangly things...

Julia didn't quite duck far enough and whacked her poor head...  Derr!

Most of the falls in the shot

Looking out over the valleys

Parallel bars

Steep steps

Going up!

Back up the horrible steep steps to the top

This time Julia plucks up the courage to look over the edge...

Let's Go To
Palm Beach
We raced over to the coast to see if we could get to Palm Beach before it got dark...

The sun was just setting...

Looks quite nice at dusk...

Final packing of the bags... that seemed like they contained most of Tasmania's wood!  They weighed a ton!

The many smiley faces of Julia...

Randomly, we found this sad looking TV...

Wendy The Fat Arsed Wombat squeezed into Julia hand-luggage...

Julia's last ride in Mustie...

Ears says farewell

Bye bye Julia!!!

...Byeeeee!!!!
